Board Member Spotlight
At the Bozeman Area Community Foundation, we have 11 dedicated, local community members who serve on our hard-working Board of Directors. We want you to get to know this all-star team! We think they’re pretty amazing – and we’re sure you will, too! Let’s start with Nicole Ziegler!
2. What do you do professionally?
I coordinate the Medicaid billing for 29 school districts for a regional education nonprofit.
3. What do you love most about our community?
Our causes and sense of community. No matter what interests or passions a person has, they can find ways to be involved, to serve and to support many different kinds of nonprofits and service agencies.
4. Why are you serving on the board of the Bozeman Area Community Foundation?
I have served on the board of a community foundation previously and experienced firsthand the enormous impact of supporting the local community and distributing grants to worthy causes. When my family relocated to Bozeman a couple years ago I knew I wanted to continue to serve my local community in this way.
5. If there was one thing you wanted people to know about BACF, what would it be?
BACF has a heart for serving local nonprofits. Our Community Cafe has impacted the way nonprofits interact and communicate with each other and has provided a unique opportunity for growth and collaboration. Give Big was proof of the way our community can make a big impact by working together.
6. What inspires you?
The laughter of children and the joy on people’s faces when they feel the satisfaction of giving to others.
7. What’s something not very many people know about you?
My husband and I have been Foster parents three times. It is one of the best and hardest jobs in the world.
8. What is one item on your “Bucket List”?
Taking a trip to France, Germany and Switzerland. I have tried to make this trip happen twice before, hopefully 2016 will be the year!
