BoardLaunch: Building Better Boards
Building a board of engaged volunteer leaders is critical for nonprofit organizations. And great boards are composed of individuals who understand – and embrace – their roles and responsibilities.
As nonprofit boards diversify with a new generation and a broader representation of the people they serve, and as corporations encourage community leadership experiences for promising employees, we are presented fresh opportunities to reach and equip more rising leaders with the tools they need.
The Bozeman Area Community Foundation is excited to announce a new four-part series that offers an overview of the learning, commitment, fiduciary and governance responsibilities of board service. This small cohort series will have 16 participants which will allow for more intimate discussions on challenges and opportunities board members face in their leadership roles.
Who Should Register?
This series is ideal for those community members currently sitting on a board or considering board service. This series is not intended for nonprofit staff members unless they are community board members as well.
All sessions will be held from 5:30pm – 8pm at Tanglewood (730 Boardwalk Avenue Suite 10, Bozeman, MT 59718). Dinner, materials and course presentations are included in your registration fee. Participants are expected to join each session in the month of October. Spots are very limited so be sure to register today!

Monday, October 21st // Assessing Board Performance: How to measure your success
Presenter: Terry Profota, Sage Solutions – Nonprofit Consulting, LLC
For boards to be able to move their organization forward, they need to assess and reflect on their own performances individually and collectively. Assessing board performance give the board a chance to step away from other duties and reflect on how well they are doing relative to strategic planning, overseeing the organization and its needs, and where they can improve individually. In this session, we will discuss best practices in board assessment.
Monday, October 28th // Leadership: Working Better Together
