Question: I would like to avoid capital gains taxes by gifting property or stock to you. Is this OK?

Answer: Yes. It is one of the ways donors support worthy causes and also reduce taxes. Congress allows you to save income and estate taxes by claiming charitable deductions. Large gifts and gifts of real estate usually require careful tax planning. We would like to discuss this with you and your financial advisor before you make any gift or list any property for sale.
