Funding Strategies for Start-up Nonprofits on Tuesday, June 17 at 10 a.m.: Are you a new nonprofit and lost on where to start seeking funding? Are you doing great work but lack the infrastructure necessary to apply for grants? Is the battery of requirements of funders making you feel inadequate? Learn some simple techniques to start preparing your organization to meet funder requirements and continue the great work you are passionate about.
Preparing for your first Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 18 at 10 a.m.: Are you prepared for your first “official” board meeting? This session will help you organize essential documents to prepare you for your first board meeting. You will learn tips on how to create a productive agenda, compile meeting minutes, and manage committees. A brief overview of Robert’s Rules of Order will be covered.
Chart of Accounts and Financial Reporting on Thursday, June 19 at 10 a.m.: This session will introduce you to the Unified Chart of Accounts for nonprofits organizations. The charts of accounts are the backbone of a good accounting system and will save you time and money if done correctly. We will take an assessment of your financial management practices and design a plan to ensure your organization starts off on the right track. You will be given a sample operating budget, project budgets, financial policies, and more. A QuickBooks demonstration on setting up budgets and using the “class” feature will be offered.
Project and File Management System on Tuesday, June 24 at 10 a.m: This session will give you tips on organizing your important information. Learn how to set up an organization and project management system that is user friendly and secure. Topics such as email, website, cloud storage, contact management system, social media, and telecommunications will be presented.
