By establishing a fund through One Valley, you are a stakeholder in the future of the Gallatin Valley, its communities, and its people. What type of fund is right for you?

Corporate Advised Funds

Make it easier for your company to make a charitable impact. Companies can choose this as a convenient and flexible way to give back to the Gallatin Valley. The One Valley staff will work with your company to develop a plan that fits your desired results, making corporate giving easy and efficient.

Donor-Advised Fund

Donors take an active role in recommending grants of their choosing. These gifts build on the personal mission and interest of the donor who created the fund. A donor-advised fund offers the advantages of a private foundation with lower management costs, and greater tax benefits. Learn More

Designated Endowment Funds

If you know which nonprofit organizations you would like to support in the long-term, a designated endowment fund may be the right fit for you. Name the organization or organizations you would like to support, and One Valley will oversee annual contributions from your designated fund. This type of fund ensures that the organizations that are important to you receive ongoing support throughout the life of the fund.

Field of Interest Funds

Support an area of interest you feel passionate about with a field of interest fund. When you make a donation, it will support organizations with a similar mission, such as health, environment, education, etc. Specify your area of interest at the time the fund is created. One Valley will make grants from this fund to appropriate organizations in the specified field of interest.

Nonprofit Endowment Fund

Provide long-term support for local community organizations that will continue to impact the Gallatin Valley into the future. Donors name an organization or organizations they would like to support. One Valley then manages the distribution of annual contributions to those organizations.

Better Together Fund

These flexible, unrestricted funds are used to quickly respond to local needs. They address the Gallatin Valley’s most pressing needs today and into the future. This permanent charitable resource is like a savings account to be used for our community when needs arise.

Legacy Funds

Honor your loved one and ensure their memory lives on by establishing a legacy fund in their name. A legacy fund allows you to be active in the giving process by recommending organizations that receive gifts that you or your loved one is passionate about. One Valley maintains fund records, researches potential fund recipients, ensures distributions to qualified tax-exempt organizations, and connects donors recipients.

Nonprofit Agency Funds

Nonprofit organizations wishing for the foundation to manage their endowed funds into the future can create a nonprofit agency fund. This fund assures donors that funds earmarked for the future will be invested wisely and used appropriately. The foundation manages the fund as part of its investments and distributes annual payments to the organization.

When we moved to Montana, we wanted to be thoughtful about charitable giving throughout the Gallatin Valley. We learned that opening a donor advised fund at the One Valley Community Foundation is a great way to not only manage and track our donations - but more importantly, to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and opportunities in the Valley. Because of One Valley, we’ve been able to have greater impact with the gifts we make.
